History of Kapila Theertham :
According to legend, Saint Kapila Maharishi was said to have lived here, worshipped and meditated in the cave in front of the idol of Lord Shiva, hence the placed is named after the saint Kapila Theertham. Lord Shiva is said to have blessed Sage Kapila with a vision of himself and his consort. Significance of Kapila Theertham :
There is a big statue of Nandi that is seated when one enters the darshan of Kapileswara Swamy Temple. And also, there are seven hills of Tirupati, Kapila Teertham waterfalls, and a sacred lake directly ahead.It is believed that persons bathing in it at that auspicious time will attain salvation from the cycle of birth and death.

COVID-19 restrictions :
The endowments department has issued certain guidelines to follow by all the temple authorities when darshan commences. Due to covid, lockdown is lifted and Aadhar card for darshan is mandatory at all major temples and the timing will be 6Am and 6 pm. Only 250 devotees are allowed for darshan. offering ‘satagopam’ and ‘theertham’ are avoided for minimum physical distance to be maintained for the safety of archakas and devotees.
